Peak (Bakewell) Exhibition 2025

We held the 2025 Peak (Bakewell) Exhibition  on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th June at our usual location of the Agricultural Business Centre close to the centre of Bakewell. Everyone seemed to enjoy the show.

Malcolm Wilkinson's Longchester Gasworks

The club is building a new modular layout - Longchester.  The layout is made up of 4 foot by 2 foot boards and different members have built different boards.  The first that we show is Malcolm's Gasworks.  This shows all the elements of a works producing town gas and all the by-products that were a common sight in the first half of the 20th century.  It has a conveyor for the distribution of the coal from the standard line sidings and a high level narrow gauge works line.  This runs 12v DC locomotives using an automated, computer-driven sytem built by Malcolm and his friend, Peter.

Phil Delnon - Hornby Dublo 3-Rail

Dave Hall - Northern Junction

Dave, a member of our club, has built this layout over the last 12 months and has captured that feel of the Borders.  He and his friends have made it a circular layout now.
